March
The 1st President, Kenji Ao established Mokuken
Chemical Industry Co.,Ltd. as a manufacturer and retail sales for industrial detergents.
1949s
June
The manufacturing division becomes independent in Hanaten, Joto-ku, Osaka.
1969s
July
Mokuken Chemical Industry Co., Ltd. established in Miyakojima-ku, Osaka.
1974s
July
A new Tokyo Sales Office is opened in Funado, Itabashi-ku, Tokyo.

A second factory is newly built in Hanaten, Joto-ku, Osaka.
1983s
January
Kenshi Ao, the President and Representative Director, passes away in December 1982. Hirokazu Ao assumes the position of Representative Director.

A new Tokyo Sales Office is built in Daimon, Itabashi-ku, Tokyo.

December
Cosmetics Department inaugurated within Mokuken Chemical Industry Co., Ltd. in Oyodo Kita-ku, Osaka. Cosmo Beauty LLC established.

A new Tokyo Sales Office and Kanto Factory are built in Ogawa-machi, Hiki-gun, Saitama.

Cosmo Beauty LLC converted to Cosmo Beauty Co., Ltd.

“New head office built to integrate the office and Kansai manufacturing plant. Trade name Mokuken Chemical Industry Co., Ltd. changed to Mokuken Co., Ltd.”

Mokuken Co., Ltd. opens an office in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

VINA COSMO CO., LTD. is established in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, as a 100% subsidiary of Mokuken Co., Ltd.

A new head office factory is built next to Mokuken Co., Ltd. in Konohana-ku, Osaka.

October
Shigei Co., Ltd. opens a Shanghai office.

The Tokyo Sales Office and Kanto Factory are newly built and relocated to Namegawa-machi, Hiki-gun, Saitama (within the Higashimatsuyama Industrial Park).

Shimaya Trading International Trading Co. is established in Shanghai, China.

The Tokyo Sales Office and Kanto Factory are expanded. A factory with the same environment as pharmaceutical manufacturing, with a clean-controlled area of 804.1㎡, is installed.

Yoshiharu Yamakawa is appointed as Representative Director.

A Tokyo Sales Office is opened in Minato-ku, Tokyo.

The head office is relocated from Konohana-ku, Osaka, to Higashi-Ikebukuro, Toshima-ku, Tokyo.

Mokuken Co., Ltd. and Cosmo Beauty Co., Ltd. merge to consolidate management resources, and the company becomes Cosmo Beauty Co., Ltd.

April
Medicos Co., Ltd. changes its company name to Medicos Seiyaku Co., Ltd.

Shigeki Nishikawa is appointed as the 4th President and Representative Director.
2010s
October
The third phase of the Kanto Factory expansion is completed. A new factory meeting cosmetic GMP standards is established. The Tokyo head office is relocated.
2014s
June
The Osaka Branch and Osaka Research Center are relocated to Shimaya 6-chome, Konohana-ku, Osaka. A dual-headquarters system with both Tokyo and Osaka is implemented.
July
Takashi Yamazoe is appointed as the 5th President and Representative Director. Shigeki Nishikawa becomes Chairman of the Board.
2015s
March
The Ogawa Warehouse is newly built in Ogawa-machi, Hiki-gun, Saitama. The corporate philosophy is rebranded.

The Tokyo head office is relocated from Ikebukuro to Narimasu. A new Tokyo Lab is established.
October
The China Factory, “Shimaya International Trading (Shanghai) Co., Ltd.,” is completed.
November
The second factory is completed in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

The Kanto Factory building is expanded.

The Osaka Fukushima Office is opened.

October
The third factory of VINA COSMO is completed in Vietnam.

A research center is established alongside the relocation of Shimaya Trading, Shanghai.

A company building is acquired in Chuo-ku, Osaka. The Osaka Fukushima Office is relocated and a Central Office with head office functions is opened. The Osaka Head Office is renamed the Universal Office.

The Kanto No. 2 Factory is completed in Namegawa-machi, Hiki-gun, Saitama.

The Universal Office is closed and relocated to and integrated with the Central Office.

A Technical Center is opened in Konohana-ku, Osaka.

August
A factory is acquired on Port Island, Chuo-ku, Kobe, Hyogo Prefecture.

The Kobe Factory begins operations.

The Hakata Sales Office and Research Center are opened in Hakata-ku, Fukuoka City, Fukuoka Prefecture.
